Baby's week out!
What a week it had been! NO, I wont take a step back for calling myself a baby. I have reasons for that, I have never been left to stay with my friends in an entirely new city, So i can justify that i can be called baby. Only because i'm seeing the world "alone", for the first time :)
So i have to confess what i have done in a new city. If i say that the city is Chennai, its needless to say about your imaginations. I'm so sorry to disappoint you, if you thought anything like hang over :)
It was my poorva jenma puniyam that i have visited chennai in the month of may in my all previous visits. First thing i have to acknowledge about the great city is HEAT! The very moment i reached Chennai, I was welcomed by an ad board "Feel the heat". Aaare what a timing? My already darkening skin tone had darkened still, Thanks to Mr. Suriyanaar. The heat of chennai had made me forget that i'm a Tirunelveli guy. I can understand now, why Chennai is in water scarcity than most of the other cities. For this blistering heat one has to be in water thrice a day! ( I sincerely mean H2O, nothing else) then how can you expect the sustainable water level?
Transport!! no, to be specific, mode of transport, if i dint talk about that, Ms.Kannagi will burn me alive in already burning marina sand. Sure, can travel anywhere in and around Chennai. MTC and local trains are frequent and ( not to be very seriously taken ) comfortable. But I can't understand one logic. Ladies and girls can sit anywhere in the bus, even at the very back seat. When everywhere around Tamil nadu this practice is not found, why alone in Chennai? I mean that its always a negative issue for them. For both safety and safety issues ( one for health and other for molestation ). With metro train on the way its a Bliss for the chennaites. AC buses are not least popular here, it's satisfying its moto of engaging the upper middle class and not allowing them to burn the hydrocarbon for their motors. But you'll never wish to travel in Chennai roads between 5 pm to 8. God! I can never trace out where these people are flying on and off the road. It took almost 3 hours to cross 10 kms via bike. First time I felt why people are using "It sucks", of course dude it sucks energy! hell lot of that.
The major difference between Chennai 1990's and Chennai 2010 is OMR. With the ultra fast development mode there are rising new sky scrapers every single month. Softwares! Softwares! we can easily say where those 1.5 lakh engineering graduates of TN are moving. We can have the alumini meet of all those colleges in OMR. Whole lot of engineering brains are re-programmed for software business there.
Another "Warre!" fact. Chennai is best suited place for Health tourism after the konkan regions. With rising Corporate hospitals its even better these days. People choose Chennai because they find it relatively cheap ( OH! GOD i cant even imagine what will be the expense for health care in other nations). But people fail to notice a key factor. Chennai is for hospitals like china is for electronic goods. That's not a healthy factor Saaaree!! One example will explain things better. Chennai hospitals buy near-death equipments from other nations, The ultrasound machine used in one diagnostic center has no ultrasound coming from the machine, then how the hell they can diagnose? heaven knows!
Advertisements will ever be an eye catching factor for the people who travel in Chennai. The political ad's are the most which reduces the BP level in the common man in Chennai. All those are agmark comedies. Titles such as "Izhlaya Cheguveraa" made me laugh like a hell. Do they ever know who that great man was?
Of course Of course! Girls ! definitely another eye catching factor. They Dravidian characteristics were missing, which includes little dark skin tone and little chubbiness but girls these days are lean, very lean infact and very pale but still awesome :P
Marina! I'm so sorry to say that its "Crappy marina" these days. With the tag of world's second largest beach, it doesn't maintain its quality. With the cool breeze during dawn and dusk, its a paradise in the hell. With the beach road so long one could easily forget the agony day if they walk and walk with hands held with the gentle wind. However crappy it is, Marina is still adorable.
One factor to be proud off. Chennai is not as crime rated city as other metros in India. Girls can walk on roads atleast till 9 pm. It's never absolute but relatively its okay. It is a heaven in peace ( Must exclude the nasty tussle on the roads and occasional tourist spot for the terror machines )
Will Chennai forgive me if I Leave CSK out of this equation? Posters!Posters!everywhere.For sure CSK would have missed the support from home crowd this season. Please! Officers of Rippon building, atleast make sure CSK plays in Chennai next year.
All i say to conclude is, I don't have any other business right now in vacation , All the catchy topics little far and
Chennai is not enjoying its uninterrupted peace.
